I can't even understand how this place has so many 5 star reviews. I was warned my MANY people from work to not go here but I had a broken strut and didnt want to drive it far. I was happy that they were able to take my car in right away and they seemed like nice people. They told me to replace both strut mounts (my car only has 51000 miles on it), talked me into a transmission fluid change and air filter. I was so stressed and just needed my car fixed that I agreed to the $900+ repair bill with a 10% discount for working at IPG Photonics. When I picked up the car I immediately noticed clunking noises from both back tires when going over bumps.. I had all intentions to take it back but life happens and remembered that their work has warranty for 30000 miles so I figured I can go back any time. 2 weeks after the work is done I take my car for a state inspection and it failed for emissions, brought it back to pro auto for a quote. - $750 and was told I shouldn't drive my car. Supposedly, I needed a new catalytic converter and my exhaust system was "Falling off". Hello, I was just there 2 weeks ago and asked you to check for a noise in the front right end and if you actually checked it and not just saying it's the air filter, wouldnt have this been found? Outrageous. How is "falling off" missed?? I said no to the repairs, when picking up the car, I had my husband go in to get the keys and all of sudden "we forgot the IPG discount" and "I can shop for cheaper parts" and offered financing. That feels shady.. hands down. So I drove my car for a week until payday and took it to another shop down the road (my exhaust system never fell off btw) .. I DID NOT NEED A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND THE EXHAUST SYSTEM WAS NOT FALLING OFF. It was rusted out in one area (front right end... the area I asked pro auto to check) I got this fixed for $181.25, had the car back same day and passed state inspection. I never write reviews but I am absolutely SICK that I got bamboozled out of $900+ and they almost got me again for $750. That $900 was my bill money for a whole month.. I THOUGHT I was lucky enough to have that amount saved up so I could have my car fixed now I feel like an idiot for throwing money at a mechanic that is in the business of replacing new and taking advantage of people. I will never go back there and will suggest to anyone who needs work done to try somewhere else. I dont even want to go back to get the clunking checked to be honest. Be careful and get a second opinion!!
